FAQs & Terms

Terms and Conditions

 

In the following terms & conditions “the photographer” shall mean Michael Weiler & Pascal Keller

trading as Caribbean Emotionsy. “The client(s)” shall be

those persons defined as bride and groom on the booking form. These terms

& conditions cannot be varied in any way by the client(s) unless such

conditions are expressly agreed by the photographer in writing.

 

Prices

All our wedding packages and additional extras specified on the

booking form are supplied at the prices ruling on the date of booking.

The prices ruling at the time of receipt of the reservation.

 

Hotel/Day-Pass or Fee

For weddings taking place inside a hotel. The hotel charges a "Day Pass/Fee" for the photographer and the videographer.

The client will have to cover this cost!

 

Payments

A non-refundable booking fee of 20% of the total Cost will confirm your booking, as well

as full acceptance of the terms and conditions as published on our website.

The booking fee will be deducted from the cost of the client's chosen package when calculating the final balance due

 

Payment in full of the remaining balance will be due when the client receivte the product.

If the photographer can't deliver the product, the client must pay the full final balance plus the shipping cost.

Payment only in cash!

 

Product Delivery

The edited products are ready within 48h.

If it takes more then 48h the photographer send the prducts to the client.

In this case the photographer charge the shipping cost to the client.

The clients must pay all the cost on the wedding day.

 

Discounts

The discounts apply not to the total cost! The discount apply to the rest payment.

 

Images

All image sizes are nominal. The Photographer will provide a pleasing colour balance but cannot guarantee exact colour matching owing to anomalous reflectance caused by a combination of certain dyes and materials especially man-made fibres. It is sometimes impossible to record the exact colour as seen by the human eye.

 

Retouching

The Photographer will retouch, digitally manipulate and finish according to his/her own

discretion. Any retouching, digital manipulation or finishing which is requested by the

Client(s) may be subject to an extra charge at the discretion of the Photographer.

 

Display

Caribbean Emotions may display any photographs on any Caribbean Emotions website, portfolio, literature, display areas, exhibitions, competitions, advertising or slide shows.

 

Force majeure or Act of God

The due performance of this contract is subject to alteration or cancellation by either party owing to any cause beyond their control.

 

Negatives/Digital files

Negatives/digital files remain the property of the photographer. The Photographer will not be solely responsible for the storage and maintenance of negative/digital files, but will keep negatives/digital files intact and available to the client for at least one year from the date of the wedding.

 

Complaints

Any complaints should first be raised by the client to the Photographer within 21 days

from the receipt of images.

 

Product availability

Services in this publication may not be available in your country.

References to any service do not imply that The Wedding Photographer intends to make it available in your country.

 

Music Choice for Video

Any particular music chosen by the client for the edited video has to be supplied before the filming of the event .If no music choice is given we will choose the music and a charge will be made for subsequent changes. Any changes to the edited video will be charged at the daily rate. There is a licence fee for the use of commercial music included on DVDs/videos. If you opt not to pay this fee you accept responsibility for the payment and clearance of music used and absolve Caribbean Emotions from breaking any copyright laws.

 

Re-edits for Video

Technical errors will be corrected free of charge. Client-requested changes to their video will be charged at the prevailing daily edit rate.

 

Disclaimer for Vide

Every effort will be made to ensure your event is recorded in full on the day. A back-up camera is carried to minimise problems caused by equipment failure and this is also used to film certain parts of the event from a different angle. No liability is accepted for failure of performance due to any other circumstances beyond our control.

 

 

 

 

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography & Videography

 

With what primary photographic style do you identify with?

Photojournalism, traditional / posed.

 

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

We edit every single proof as if it was going to be blown up and hung on your wall! We photograph your images digitally and this leaves many possibilities for the use of color, black and white, and special techniques with the use of Photoshop and Lightroom.

 

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

We have photographed in all types of lighting situations in Punta Cana: low-light, bright sunlight, mixed lighting. We know our equipment. We get it right from the beginning.

 

Is your media preference film or digital?

All photos are taken and processed digitally.

 

How many photographers do you work with?

We photograph alone (Michael Weiler or Pascal Keller)

 

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes! ABSOLUTELY! We will be there and give you our best.

 

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

We never book more than two weddings a day!

 

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

We are a total of two photographers, so that someone is always available to cover in case of an emergency.

 

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

Multiple camera bodies, lenses, flashes, memory cards, batteries, chargers.

 

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

ABSOLUTELY! Yes. We have a back-up camera, flash equipment, batteries, and lenses.

 

Do you charge hourly or full day?

Depending upon the needs of our client.

 

 

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

Overtime is $200 per hour per photographer & videographer, and must be paid in cash at the wedding when the decision is made.

 

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

We require a hot meal to be provided for each photographer and videographer.

 

Do you charge for travel?

No travel costs for weddings at Punta Cana, La Romana and Santo Domingo.

 

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Your edited wedding photographs are ready within 48h.

 

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

All proofs are given to the clients on a DVD, but not the RAW files! We don't give uneditet pictures.

You are hiring us for the finished product.

 

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

NO! One of the best parts about booking Caribbean Emotions is that the client gets full rights of ALL the wedding photos!

Heck, we even give you a notarized copyright release stating that you own the rights!

This way you don’t have to come back to us for a single print!!!

 

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes, unless the bride and groom need privacy considerations.

 

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

All digital files are given to the clients on JPG-Format, but not the RAW files!

 

Will images be available for viewing online?

It's impossible for us to upload all your pictures. The internet connection in the DR is too slow.

 

What kind of albums do you offer?

You get a handmade album, made in the DR.

 

When will the client get the final album?

Your album is ready within 3 business days.

 

What primary video style do you identify with?

Cinematic, short form, traditional.

 

Which formats will the final video be in?

Clients get a standart DVD included in all the packages. Blu-Ray is available but at an extra cost.

 

Are you a commercial studio or a home-based business?

We are a home-base studio business.

Do you offer demo DVDs for potential clients to look at?

What types, such as unedited footage or special effects, of videography do you offer?

All footage is delivered 100% professionally edited to client in DVD format.

Most types of special effects editing can be provided upon request for no additional charge.

Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?

ABSOLUTELY! We use the latest LED Lights!

 

How many videographers do you work with?

One videograph alone.

 

Do you have a replacement videographer in case you become unavailable on the event day?

We are a total of two videographers, so that someone is always available to cover in case of an emergency.

 

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

One Professional Sony Camcorder and One Backup. Also two Ultra High Powered Super Bright LED Light Sennheiser Wireless Lavalier Microphone System.

 

Do you give access to your raw footage?

Yes but for an additional cost.

Do you reserve the right to use the video in the future for deals, contents, etc.?

NO. One of the best parts about booking Caribbean Emotions is that the client gets full rights to the full Video.

 

Is the client involved in the editing process? If so, how much input does the client have in editing?

You can choose your Music! :)

 

How long does it take for the client to get the final video?

Your edited wedding video is ready within 48h.
